Her tennis idol growing up was Martina Navratilova because she was an amazing player and a lefty. She first started playing on the ITF circuit in 2006 where she won 2 Singles titles. In 2009 she won her first Singles title in Hobart and finished running-up in Linz the same year. 2011 was her breakout year reaching the Quarterfinals of the Australian Open Women's Singles draw, capturing her first Grand Slam Singles title at Wimbledon defeating Maria Sharapova, and winning five other tournaments the same year. She followed this up in 2014 with a second Grand Slam Singles Title at Wimbledon defeating Eugenie Bouchard.
