The Gel-Resolution's popularity speaks for itself. Taylor Fritz, Matteo Berretini, Ons Jabeur, and Jasmine Paolini are just a few of the world's best tennis players who wear them. But how does that relate to tennis players who are NOT the best in the world?
First Fit
The Resolution 8 and 9 trended more narrow, and if they fit right, they were a world class tennis shoe. From the moment I laced up the GEL-Resolution X the upper wrapped my foot perfectly, and I felt a little more width which I was not expecting. Another key here, the added eyelets allow you to customize the fit over the top of the foot, so you can use the wider placed eyelets, or the ones more on top to tailor the fit to your liking. I preferred the wider eyelets. What I loved most about initial fitting is the forefoot comfort. When i have foot trouble, its the metatarsal area, and the Resolution X has Gel unit in the forefoot which was perfect.
A Shoe for Baseliners
The brand's marketing pitch for the Resolution X is for a baseliner style of play. The DYNAWALL system gives tons of lateral support during quick transitions, and when you look at the shoe from the back, you can see the medial ankle collar comes up a littler higher than on the lateral side. This give the ideal amount of stability with agility as well. While I understand most tennis players prefer the back of the court, The GEL-Resolution X can work for any playing style, and it is comfortable everywhere on the court.
Durability
"Does the shoe have a warranty?" Yes it does, just like the previous version. The outsole is grippy and tough, and the upper section is comprised of a durable yet flexible material to protect the foot during hard court battles.
Comfort
The Resolution X is comfortable right away. Sometimes the top brands can get overly focused on super technical features, but what it gets down to for most players is "Is the shoe comfortable?" The Resolution has tons of technical prowess, but it is simply comfortable to wear.

FF BLAST™ Plus Eco
ASICS cushioning element for a softer landing and more responsive toe-off. It is very light and made of ecological materials. This midsole contains up to 20% more foam than the classic FF BLAST™.
DYNALACING™
Designed to hold when extra support is needed. This creates a locked-in feel when making quick transitions. For the new Resolution, ASICS added extra eyelets to the upper so the fit can be tailored to different foot widths.
DYNAWALL™
The stability is improved thanks to DYNAWALL which extends into the heel of the Gel-Resolution X for added stability during lateral movements. It's a functional feature that's effective when you're running covering both sides of the baseline.
