Let's start at the top of the list with Novak Djokovic. Nicknamed 'Nole', this sensational Serbian holds the all-time record for most Grand Slam singles titles in history (24). He is a five-time champion at the BNP Paribas Open, and the only male player to have won all four Grand Slams at least three times. Nole is currently ranked No. 1 in the world. While there's a 16-year age gap between him and Carlos Alcaraz, there's only an 800 point difference on the leaderboard.
Carlos is the reigning champion at the BNP. After last years victory he became the youngest man in tournament history to win the title at Indian Wells. But then again, he has been breaking records ever since he joined the ATP Tour in 2020. Named ATP Newcomer of the Year in 2020, Carlos has earned two Grand Slam titles. The first at the 2022 US Open and also at the 2023 Wimbledon. He is often compared to his tennis idol and fellow countryman, Rafael Nadal, who also endorses Babolat and Nike, and despite recent injuries is slated to be at the BNP.

Jannik Sinner has been playing lights-out. The 22 year old Italian is heading to Indian Wells off the biggest title of his career at the 2024 Australian Open. He made history in Melbourne when he became the first Italian man to reach the Australian Open finals, and only the third Italian man to reach any Major final in the Open Era. He will face many big-hitters in the draw including Stefanos Tsitsipas.
Recognized as the top-ranked Greek male tennis pro of all time, Stefanos has yet to make it past the quarterfinals at Indian Wells, however, this could be his year. American pro Taylor Fritz, will be a sturdy roadblock. Fritz lost in the quarterfinals last year, yet he won the desert tournament two years ago.

Another American pro, Coco Gauff, will be returning to Indian Wells after a breakout year. The young superstar capture her maiden Grand Slam at the 2023 US Open. Likewise, Coco went on to earned three more singles titles since and is ready to take on World No. 1, Iga Swiatek.
Despite talk of recent injuries, Iga is gearing up to snag her second title of 2024, after winning the Qatar TotalEnergies Open a couple weeks ago. As the first Polish player to ever win a Major title, she will demonstrate her athleticism, along with her will to win, especially if she's to face Aryna Sabalenka.
Ranked No. 2, Sabalenka returns to Indian Wells after finishing last year as the runner-up in singles. Not to mention she has a lot of moment from back to back championship titles at the Australian Open. Sabalenka was propelled into the No. 1 spot for the first time in her career at the end of 2023. You can bet she won't let anyone stand in the way at the BNP, including Elena Rybakina.
As the defending women’s singles champion, Elena will have her work cut out for her. She'll also be looking for her third title of 2024 after winning in Brisbane and Abu Dhabi.
